Located near Ponca, AR, in the Buffalo National River area, Whitaker Point is known for:

- A 3-mile round-trip hike that leads to several beautiful overlooks

Is Whitaker Point Good for a Micro Wedding?
Whitaker Point is best suited for elopements or very small micro weddings (2–10 people).
Because the trail is narrow and the cliff area is limited, bringing a large group isn’t recommended or safe.
For micro weddings:
- Choose lightweight decor only (or none at all)
- Have guests wear proper hiking footwear
- Keep the group small for safety and trail preservation
Who Can Do the Hike?
The hike is moderate, not extremely hard, but:
- There are roots, rocks, and uneven ground
- The trail can be muddy after rain
- Children, elderly guests, or anyone with mobility issues may struggle
Most adults in average health can complete the hike with:
- Good walking shoes
- Water
- A small backpack
- Patience for a few steeper sections
It’s very manageable but definitely a real hike—not a short walk.
